Power wedding

When city council candidate James Rodriguez, former chief of staff for City Councilwoman Carol Alvarado, wed Wendy Montoya, a Vinson & Elkins associate, Saturday night, the turnout was politically potent.

In fact, guests are betting that the wedding at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the reception at the InterContinental Houston will be hard to beat this year in terms of political punch.

Guests included newly-elected City Councilwoman Melissa Noriega, accompanied by husband State Rep. Rick Noriega; State Sen. Mario Gallegos; former U.S. Rep. Chris Bell and wife Alison; Alvarado; lobbyist Al Luna; political consultant Marc Campos with his steady, Astros powerhouse Pam Gardner; Fulbright & Jaworski's Richard Huff; and marketing and PR consultant Cindy Clifford and husband David Bray.
