Welcome to the James Rodriguez Campaign
Hi! I'm James Rodriguez and I hope to be your next Houston City Council Member for District I.
I am dedicated to the people of District I. I grew up here and graduated from Milby High School. I still live and am a homeowner in the District today. Not only do I look forward to representing my friends and neighbors, I feel that I am more than ready to step up and do so. I have the experience, drive, and passion required to advocate for my community.
For four and a half years, I served as chief of staff to our current City Council Member Carol Alvarado. I had the unique opportunity to work closely with the Council Member and was happy to oversee her Council Agenda, Committees, Office/Operating Budget, Media and Public Relations, Constituent Services, and Community |

| Outreach. Although I am currently employed as Marketing Director for Entech Civil Engineering, I still frequently meet with District I constituents and spend most evenings and weekends participating in community events across the District. Because of my commitment to this District, I am proud to say I am on a first name basis with most of the civic leaders, business owners and clergy in the area.
At the city, my staff became widely known for our 24-hour service and unmatched dedication. We worked to improve the air in the East End, shut down nuisance bars and cantinas, install cameras at problem rail crossings, and revitalize Houston's now flourishing downtown. I look forward to continuing that legacy and focusing on:
Fighting for cleaner air and taking on chemical plants that harm the environment.
Bringing capital improvement projects such as mobility enhancement projects to the district.
Introducing initiatives for safer neighborhoods and parks that will attract families.
I want an aggressive health department that will reach out to make sure all of our children are immunized.
Seeking the funding we need to have responsive police and fire departments.
Working with neighborhood leaders for ordinances and laws that preserve our neighborhoods.
Making sure our civic clubs and neighborhood associations continue to have a strong voice at city hall.
| I thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail!
